Percent Applications Project From Manufacturer to retailer : Gopro Cameras

Average Price to make a Gopro The average price to make a Gopro Hero 4 is $70. The Manufacturer sells it to the retailer for $180. These cameras are made in China.

Sale Price of a Gopro Hero 4 The retailer sells the Gopro to the consumer for $399.99. HERO4 Silver $399.99

The Markup Prices The markup percent from the manufacturer to the retailer is 257.14 % I got this by dividing 180 by 70 then I moved the decimal 2 spots to the right. The markup percent from the retailer to the consumer is 222.21 % I got this by dividing 399.99 and 180 and moved the decimal 2 spots to the right.

Observations Gopro makes a huge profit ! No matter what retailer I researched the camera was all the same price. 3. It appears the manufacturers set the price.

Explanation of terms Markup : the increase of a price of an item, usually in percents Manufacturer : the maker of a certain item Retailer : a business or place that lets you buy manufactured goods Consumer : a person that buys manufactured goods
