VOCAB/IDEAS Our new vocabulary words will be on the top of the slide. If you think you know what the word means, raise your hand. I will call on someone to share the definition. For each new word, we will need an action. After we have the definition, if you can ACT OUT the word, raise your hand. I will call on someone to share the action with the class. Everyone will do the new action.

La cocina Kitchen

El baño The bathroom

El dormitorio The bedroom

La sala The living room

El apartamento The apartment

La casa The house

El garaje The garage

GROUP GAME: MATAMOSCAS I will divide the classroom into 2 teams. Each team will line up in front of the board. When I say the word in English, the first person will “swat” the word on the board. They will then tell me the word/phrase in Spanish. For the team to get the point, everyone in line must be doing the action to go along with the word.

El apartamento Pequeño La sala El garaje La casa La cocina Grande El dormitorio El baño

FREE WRITE… SORT OF You will be doing a free write about homes, either your real home or your ideal home. On the next slide I will be putting up a list of useful words. You have 10 minutes and I will not answer any questions about vocabulay during the free write.

FREE WRITE VOCABULARY Today’s vocab: Other useful vocab: Kitchen- la cocina I want- Yo quiero Bath- el baño I have- Yo tengo Bedroom- el dormitorio My- Mi/ Mis (Singular/Plural) Living Room- la sala Because- Porque Apartment- el apartamento For- Por House- la casa Room(s)- Cuarto(s) Garage- el garaje I Live- Yo vivo Favorite- Favorito/a

FREE WRITE FEEDBACK PART 1 When I say GO, trade free writes with someone on your right or left. You will have 5 minutes to SILENTLY read their free write and give them a score (on the rubric).

FREE WRITE FEEDBACK PART 2 Return the free write to its original owner. You have 5 minutes to give the following feedback: “Something you did well was…” and “Something you need to work on was…” Write your partner’s feedback on your free write

TAREA Part 1: -Make flashcards (on quizlet or on paper) of today’s vocabulary words, you could call this set “parts of the house vocabulary” Part 2: Turn in a half-sheet of paper with the following information: Your name Your email address (if you have one, if not write none) Your parent’s/guardians names (this is who I should contact to let them know about things you are doing well and upcoming announcements) The email addresses for the people in #3. If they share an email address that is fine, if not then list as many as I should have.
