Learning Intention I will understand my main areas of focus during our study of ‘Blood Brothers’.

During our focus of ‘Blood Brothers’, you will be expected to develop ideas about the: Themes Characters Relationships Setting Plot You will be expected to take notes as preparation for your essay….

Essay Question How does the relationship between Edward and Mickey change throughout ‘Blood Brothers’? You may discuss the following: plot, stage directions, dialogue, key scenes, characterisation, theme, plot, setting, turning point, climax, conflict, foreshadowing……..

Critical terminology – what does it mean? You must use critical terminology throughout your critical essays. By using critical terminology, you are clearly conveying your understanding and analysis of the text. We must be clear about what the terms mean and how to use them… plot, stage directions, dialogue, key scenes, characterisation, theme, plot, setting, turning point, themes, climax, conflict, foreshadowing……..

Your essay Your essay must focus on the relationship between Edward and Mickey and how it develops throughout the play. Do not simply tell the story. In order to fully show how it develops, you must discuss why it develops.
