Volunteer Responsibilities If You’re Volunteering for a Session: Arrive at assigned session room at least 30 minutes prior to start of the session. Introduce yourself to the presenter and briefly explain your role. Check all the doors of the meeting room for signs posted from previous sessions. Remove any leftover “Session Cancelled” or “Session Full” signs to prevent confusion for attendees.

Volunteer Responsibilities If You’re Volunteering for a Ticketed Session: Arrive at assigned session room at least 30 minutes prior to start of the session. Introduce yourself to the presenter and briefly explain your role. Check all the doors of the meeting room for signs posted from previous sessions. Remove any leftover “Session Cancelled” or “Session Full” signs to prevent confusion for attendees. Stand at the door of the room and ask each attendee for their ticket. Be sure the session number on ticket matches the session number you are monitoring. Tear the ticket in half. Return one half to the attendee and place other half in the session envelope.   Please note: Ticket holders who are more than 10 minutes late for the beginning of a session will forfeit their seat in the session. If a non-ticket holder is waiting to enter the session, you may allow him/her into the room after the 10 minutes if the room has not reached capacity. If a member of the media arrives at the session without a ticket, they may come in. Their name badge will say “press” and may also include a press ribbon. On your Volunteer Survey form, write down how many non-ticket holders you allowed into the room after the 10-minute mark.
