Professional/ Personal Background Introduction Professional/ Personal Background -Bachelors in Elementary Education, minor in Spanish -1st year teaching at Coventry- 4th year teaching -Graduated from Western Illinois University in 2013 -Working on a Masters Degree in Literacy Education from Northern Illinois University

My Goals To teach your child the academic and social skills they need to be successful in the future. · To create a classroom environment where everyone feels safe. · To work together and learn from each other

The Parent-Teacher Link I hope to involve you in your child’s education through open communication. I hope to work together and learn from each other. Research has shown that children perform better when parents and teachers work together and provide a united front!

Homework Assignment notebooks teach important organizational skills Reading Log At least 20 minutes per night Parent Initials Math Homework

Missing/ Incomplete Work Homework completion is integral to academic success Students who do not complete their assignments will need to complete their homework during recess. Parents will be contacted if a pattern of missing assignments is demonstrated

Behavior Management PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) Students are expected to be responsible, respectful, and safe. Behaviors that do not follow expectations, and inhibit learning, will be re-taught with teacher guidance Minor slips sent home for yellow behavior/ call or email Focus is always on positive behaviors with clip charts “Class Points” is our class behavior system which allows students to work together towards class rewards.

Lunch/ Snack Lunch will be from 12:35-1:25pm Healthy snack for the morning Pretzels, Fruits/ Veggies, Goldfish Crackers NO peanut products!! Please keep it to something that can be eaten in 5 minutes and does not need utensils

Birthday Treats Students are not allowed to bring in food items for their birthday Students can bring in small gifts or prizes Pencils, erasers, stickers, etc..

Get Involved! TAP Volunteers Halloween in October 2 Parent Volunteers Food Donations “Winter Celebration” in December Valentine’s Day celebration Field Trips
