COURSE OBJECTIVES: The course aims at exposing the students of English language and literature to different literary and cultural dimensions of the American literature. Throughout the wide scope of reading, the course aims at giving the students an ample opportunity to trace the development of American literature and its transition to have its own independence and tradition. The course aims at exposing the students to the intercultural nature of the American literature that encompasses people of different origins from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Mexico. One of the main objectives of the course is to develop the student's literary taste and analytical and critical skills.
