What is Esri Roads and Highways? Maintenance Focused route editing tools Web-based Roadway Characteristics Editing solution Address maintenance tools (10.3.1) System Integration Dynamic integration of enterprise business systems Automated synchronization of business systems with LRS Application framework LRS web services functionality for collaboration & data quality A Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Linear Referencing System (LRS) solution from Esri…

Focused LRS editing tools

Event Editor

Dynamic integration of enterprise business systems Traffic Pavement Roadway Inventory Bridge Safety Geodatabase Business Systems Features are dynamically generated from business systems Real time and temporal view of business data in the GIS LRS Routes & Measures Any # or LRM’s

Automated sync of business systems with LRS Geodatabase Business systems Rules define how events are updated LRS Editor LRS Change Web services communicate the last synchronization date Web services communicate route and measure changes to business records All edit activities are time stamped and stored

Robust set of web services for a variety of LRS functions Improve data integrity & usability

Reporting Roadway Reporter Report types Mileage summary reports Road locations & segments Mile log Filter and combine event layers Web based for PC or tablet Opens data to decision makers Produces Tabular reports, maps, data products PDF, CSV, File Geodatabase Another theme of 10.3 is opening measure based reporting and mapping to managers and decision makes. To fill a gap in reporting and mapping left by existing BI solutions, we are developing a web application that can produce mileage and other types of measure reports and maps. These reports and maps are not only used for federal reporting, but also used internally for decision making such as maintenance resource allocation. Historical business processes in a DOT produce tabular reports on mileage by district or county summarized by a variety of other roadway characteristic variables such as pavement conditions. Our goal is to support this need, but expand on it by augmenting “tabular reports” by also producing interactive web maps from the data products. An example would be to produce pavement conditions milage summaries broken down by county and provide an interactive map that allows users to click on counties to get the reporting summary details. And also allow them to navigate the map and look at specific roads as they desire to drill in based on summary results.
