Compounding 2015: Guidelines, Laws and Best Practice Carole Small Russell, RPh, MHSA Compounding Pharmacist, MUSC Training Dates and Registration Links: This training is appropriate for Pharmacists and Technicians who work with Sterile Products and Hazardous Medication Compounding Feb. 16 : Roper Hospital (Dixon Auditorium,10am-12n) Feb 17: Trident Regional (Café A 4p-6p) Feb 19 : East Cooper Hospital (1st Floor, 6p-8p) Feb 23 :Summerville Regional (Cafeteria Classrooms 4p-6p) Feb 24 : St. Francis Hospital (Mall Classroom #1, 6p-8p) Pre-registration required @ https://sccp.learningexpressce.com/ Credits: 2.0 Hour (Live) ACPE Approved For Pharmacists and Techs This is a Knowledge-Based Activity Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to: List requirements from USP 797,795 and proposed Chapter <800> Review current legal actions to improve safety of compounded preparations Discuss compliance with cGMP versus cGCP as described under the Drug Quality and Security Act Review requirements for hazardous medication handling, storage and disposal laws and best practices Compare current law versus current guideline versus best practice regarding compounding 6. Discuss cases of compounding errors and contamination Cancellation Policy: All refunds should be requested before 2/11/15 and will be subject to a $15 administrative fee. Substitutions are permissible. Statement of Accreditation: The South Carolina College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of Continuing Pharmacy Education. This program has been approved for 2 contact hours (0.20ceu) . ACPE#0062-0000-15-028-L03-P/T. Participants must sign in at beginning of program , attend entire session and complete on-line evaluation to obtain credit. Credit will be reported to CPE© Monitor.
