Blood Vessels  Arteries- strong and elastic Fx: carry blood away from heart under high pressure  Arterioles-
Arteries carry blood away from the heart. blood under great pressure

Copy and complete: The blood from the lungs enters the ______ ______. Then it gets moved down to the _______ _____. Then it gets squeezed out to the ______.
carry blood away from heart usually O 2 rich Pulmonary artery – artery leading from heart to lung (deoxygenated) connective tissue and muscle walls elastic.
The Circulatory System
The Heart. Blood is pumped through the blood vessels of the body by the contractions of the heart. Blood is pumped through the blood vessels of the body.
Blood Vessels. 1. Arteries – thick muscular walls, under high pressure, carry OXYGENATED BLOOD away from the heart (except for…) 2. Veins – thinner.

The Circulatory System: Blood Vessels. 3 types of blood vessels Arteries  carry blood AWAY from heart (reminder tip: think “A” for Away) Veins  carry.
The Circulatory System (Cardiovascular). Cardiovascular System Includes your heart, blood and vessels Includes your heart, blood and vessels Bring Oxygen.
Circulatory system. The circulatory system Has 3 functions: 1.Transport – moving things around the body in the bloodstream 2.Body temperature control.

Veins By: Nathan Van Belle

Description and System Are tubular structures Largest blood carrying structures along with the arteries Have valves to prevent backflow of blood Part of the Circulatory system

Function Mostly carry deoxygenated blood except for the pulmonary veins Always carry blood to the heart never carry blood away Always have lower pressure than arteries Works against gravity Have thinner walls More inside area Pump to the heart by muscles surrounding vein contracting and valves opening and closing to prevent the backflow of blood

Impediments Thrombosis-a clot in the blood stream that blocks the blood vessel This can be corrected by taking one of many types of drugs some of them being blood thinners Varicose veins-the swelling of veins because of the valves not working and the blood pooling
