Overview – General Information Merit with Base Salary adjustment is planned Effective September 1, 2017 For performance period February 1, 2016 - January 31, 2017 Paid beginning with paycheck dated October 1, 2017 Subject to approval of the FY 2018 Operating Budget by the Board of Regents Merit is a salary adjustment to recognize an employee’s contributions in meeting established goals & objectives of the department, college and university Based on most recent performance evaluations Budget Planning and Development Office of Financial Affairs
Overview – General Information Merit Allocation pools based on: Annual salary rate of eligible employees as of May 31, 2017 2% pool for all eligible university employees Template and instructions will be provided to Merit Area Leads the week of July 24 or sooner. Employee Eligibility Hired on or before September 1, 2016 Must not have a break in service between September 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017 Regular employees that are benefits eligible – appointment 50% or greater Student titled positions are ineligible (including GRA’s and GTA’s) Budget Planning and Development Office of Financial Affairs
Employee Eligibility Faculty specific criteria may be established by the Provost. Non-tenure track faculty Tenure or tenured track faculty who have otherwise received salary increases over the past year. All employees must have a current performance appraisal on file for the review period of February 1, 2016 – January 31, 2017 All employees required to complete the Standards of Conduct and Campus Carry training must be current. Source of Funds for Merit Education and General (E&G) merit eligible employees are funded from central budgeted source. For FY 2018 this only includes employees funded from cost centers with fund 2100. Cost centers funded by special item appropriation (Fund 2110 and 2115), merit must be provided by that appropriation source Non-E&G merit eligible employees are funded from the fund source of the position on the date merit is paid. Grants & Contracts merit eligible employees will be awarded merit pay if the grant or contract allows such to be funded. Budget Planning and Development Office of Financial Affairs
