8.3 Control Quality The process of monitoring and recording results of executing quality activities to assess performance and recommend necessary change. Quality monitoring and sign off processes that are applied on completion of deliverables and products during execution of the project. Quality monitoring and sign off processes that are applied upon completion of the entire project to determine overall success against both performance measures and quality requirements. Benefits: Identifying the causes of poor process or project quality and making recommendations Validating that project deliverables meet the requirements specified by key stakeholders necessary for final acceptance Adapted from PMBOK 5th Edition

8.3 Control Quality Always the responsibility of the Project Manager, but often there are internal quality control departments that will offer assistance, e.g. many IT departments have separate software testing teams.
