Profit increase Objectives Tactics Results Dynamics AX drives major improvements in financial and supply chain management leading to huge increase in profits and far greater efficiency Objectives K-PAK wanted to increase visibility (across the business) in financial closing and reporting, costing, raw materials and inter-company transactions. Tactics It implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX in two phases. The first phase consisted of individual modules and the second involved sales, purchase and production. Results Following the implementation, Q1 profits increased by 142%. Dynamics AX enables more efficient costing methodologies. Financial team can carry out monthly ‘closing’ at all 3 locations: this was never possible before. Key points: Customer profile: Kuwait Packing Materials Manufacturing, also known as K-PAK, is a leading manufacturer of ‘foam’ extruded, expanded, disposable foam products. It has been supplying quality and innovative packaging solutions to the food, retail, catering, supermarket, hypermarket and fast food service industries since 1986. The company has a subsidiary in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Saudi Foam Trays Manufacturing Co.) and another in Ras Al Kheimah, United Arab Emirates (U-PAK FZC). Customer website: http://www.kuwaitpack.com/ Partner name: INC Technologies Partner website: www.inc-technologies.com/ Business goal: K-PAK wanted to increase visibility (across the business) in financial closing and reporting, costing, raw materials and inter-company transactions. It wanted processes, control and audits to be more visible for each and every team member in the organization and to change the processes where necessary. Tactics: After considering several ERP platforms, including Oracle, the company implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX. This was done in two stages. First, it implemented the Dynamics AX Financial Series (GL, AP, AR, Banks and Fixed Assets), sales, purchase and inventory modules and production, process manufacturing and INC Payroll modules. In the second phase it rolled out Dynamics Anywhere (Sales, Purchase and Production): one of the key modules that made a real difference in K-PAK‘s processes. Results: The results have been far-reaching across the organization. K-PAK now has a detailed view into all processes that enables it to make changes across all three operations; leading to far greater efficiency. For instance, thanks to the better costing methodologies provided by Dynamics AX, the company gained an 142% increase in profits in Q1. At the same time, its finance team was able to carry out monthly ‘closures’ at all three locations: something it had never been able to do before.
