Alternative Spring Break Alternate Spring Breaks - Alternative Breaks are an increasingly popular way for students to participate in meaningful and fun service projects during breaks in the academic calendar. The theme of this year's Alternative Spring Break is 'Serving the Past, Present, and Future." The first phase of the trip will involve conservation and preservation of a community's past, the second phase will address the urgent needs of the present, and the third phase will emphasize preparing for the future. Trip expenses are completely funded by the Civic Engagement and Service Office, but student travelers are expected to attend an orientation meeting, complete a common reading packet, and organize a post-trip campus event to share trip outcomes with fellow students. Local Alternative Spring Break Trip Fri., March 4 & Sat., March 5 Local Trip Fri., March 4 - Sat., March 5 To apply, send an application to the Civic Engagement and Service Office before Fri., Feb. 19.
