Case Study: Zara 20 year old British citizen An example for both, the good and bad sides of London Grew up in a poor and violent household Was kicked out of home when she was 15 Had to work for being able to pay her flat (4,80 £) Went to an after school club and finished school with fantastic grades Went to university in June 2008 for studying Child Psychology Rich people can pay their way through life, whereas the poor ones got to work our way through it.

Receiving non-work benefits One in seven Londoners receive a key out-of-work benefit More JSA claimants in Outer than in Innner London but close to the national average (about 4% in November 2009) Job Seeker's Allowance is not the greatest part of out-of-work benefits in London JSA most affected by recession
