There are some elements of an HRA that are familiar to you, and some that are new. The HRA is an account set up for you by your employer (cite company name). At the beginning of the plan year, your employer (cite company name) will deposit a set amount of benefit dollars in your account. The amount depends on how many people you cover. The dollars in your HRA dollars will automatically pay first and cover 100% of your eligible expenses, as long as dollars are available. These dollars can help you meet your deductible. The HRA dollars may not fully meet your deductible, so you may have some out of pocket cost to help you meet the deductible. Once you meet the deductible, you will share expenses with the plan, up to a pre-determined maximum out of pocket limit based on the number of people you cover. Once you meet the maximum out of pocket limit, the health plan pays for all covered services beyond that amount. Because providers that are part of the CIGNA network automatically agree to discounted reimbursement, your out of pocket expenses are reduced when you use CIGNA providers. You can see doctors outside the network, though you will pay more out of pocket.
