Vanguard Sharing Event: Better Together September 2017 Evaluation Helping to shape future health and social care in Mid Nottinghamshire

Plenary No mention of family carers and the importance of support for them Helped to give background, really useful Very clear Very good in setting the context in a clear and detailed way. Difficult to achieve on such a subject that is never simple but should be of interest to all Really enjoyed it and was presented in a clear and engaging way. It was also honest and open regarding things that did not go so well in addition to those that did. Would have been good to hear more mention of VCS/engagement and involvement Seen before but excellent model A lot of information to take in and reflect Interesting content and context Excellent overview of work so far

Zone 1 Urgent Care Very informative Extremely helpful, great partnership working, innovative Really good. The leaders knew the topic inside out and because the structure wasn’t very rigid it allowed questions to be asked throughout which added to the depth of detail the group were able to get into and understand about the interventions. Very informative Very good and good talk to groups

Zone 2 Emergency Care Again good and good to talk to group An interesting presentation about self care. I hope these services are able to continue. I think health coaches is a great idea and could be the needed motivation for some of the most reluctant Useful presentations, question and answer sessions great and also really useful Very informative and interesting. Team answered all questions and discussed well

Zone 3 Proactive Care Great to have social care at the table This was extremely interesting. Examples of innovative engagement Very good session, slightly ran out of time at the end to cover social care in any depth, but the group was asking lots of questions. Great ideas, integrated working to support patients better, needs to be extended to a wider population group Most input around the pre prepared power point A really excellent session, informative, relevant and helpful. More focus on social care to balance what is taking place around improvements Lots of information imparted to us limited opportunity to engage

Zone 4 Self Care I was very impressed with the wok that has been undertaken by Self Help UK Very interesting session but too much content for 45 minutes. In order for this to work clinicians need to understand the value of the 3rd sector and how it can help them Very interesting and well presented, thank you Worried that voluntary services maybe stopped or not needed Lots of information imparted to us limited opportunity to engage

Zone 5 Elective care Really good to have 3 examples We were talked at for quite a long time- rather than it being a discussion and people being able to ask questions throughout. We had to wait until they had presented on three topics- MSK, Ophthalmology and Cancer before we could ask questions. I think it would have benefited from being a bit more interactive. The supporting info that was available to take away was really good Lots of back up information on the displays Audio poor

Zone 6 Alliance Great content! Too rushed Very complicated subject explained in a simple way Unfortunately it was a little difficult to hear so meaning was sometimes lost

Zone 7 Primary care Lot of inspiration again felt more accessible, more relatable to life and work role. Very interesting lots of new innovations Actually very good. A clear and open explanation. When trusted with honesty others have the opportunity to feel genuinely involved and play their part Positive steps towards supporting our GPs to manage their patients and making sure they receive the best care Again, another excellent and informative session. If anything I wished it had gone on for longer it was of such relevance and interest. More opportunity for discussion which was good. Sticks in brain more than one way flow of information Felt very rushed and sometimes questions asked around the table were glossed over Engaging presentation/introduction to what the team were doing in primary care with useful impact data on Acute Home Visiting provided. Good presentation allowing for plenty of time for questions Articulate and honest update of current position

Zone 8 IM&T This was extremely good as Andy explained the complexity of all the IT systems very clearly. Andy is very knowledgeable but also very good about getting messages across

Zone 9 Workforce All very interesting and more questions came to mind! Clear explanations of tools and how to use the output data An informative presentation. Understanding why and how provides good arguments to more readily accepted change

Zone 10 Data I thought that the presentation of this information was first rate. Ryan gave live demonstrations of how the data could be used in response to the questions and comments of those attending the session. Absolutely excellent! I would be interested in attending a follow up session in the future. Very interesting to see how data is being uniformly collected for better decision making Interesting and very relevant - a shame though that the data cant be shared wider

Panel Well lead and informative I thought it was really good to see the members of the Alliance represented- it reflected/added to demonstrating the system work that is happening in Mid Notts. It was facilitated very well also. Well lead and informative Questions from the floor in real time would have been more interesting- seemed a bit staged, needed to be more lively especially at the end of the day when people are flagging a bit Interesting It would have been good to have had more live Q&A from the floor. The thoughts of such people are always useful to know No mention about the fact that there is less and less staff on the ground

Other Comments Good Could be better I attended from a leadership and organisational national support role at NHSE New care models- it is great to see this programme started in 2012/13 starting with the improvement of multi disciplinary teams and the strengths in consideration through the shared agreement. I am confident the momentum will be maintained beyond the new care models programme via the Nottinghamshire STP Needed more time for questions on two of the zones Very informative session, with clear information, good mix of attendance from a range of services, service users, carers and clinicians Food needs to be clearly labelled Good organisation The lunch wasn’t healthy! Could have done with more veg/salad Great venue, good networking opportunity Very difficult to hear especially in the zones Great conference, really useful A bit too much presented via PowerPoint, a bit of an overload Overall good event, well planned and managed Still unsure how as someone with a long term condition this impacts on me as a patient Excellent event well organised, great venue Not enough patient perspective. What are patients/local people measuring success? Enjoyable and valuable watching your space I would have liked to have been able to attend all zones. Failing that I would have settled for one more, zone 6

Other Comments Good Could be better Very useful for information My only suggestion for next time would be that the zones felt a little rushed and each needed another 10 minutes, and I would have reduced lunch by 15 minutes and had a flexible tea/coffee break approach, or that the event could have run until 4pm as scheduled. People know their stuff but a bit hard to transfer to every day I thought the event was excellent, really well structured and organised. I wish I could have gone to all of the zones! It’s a pity that more people did not attend as I really thought it was an excellent day and very worthwhile I thought this was an excellent event. It should have left the cynics speechless! We have reached a tipping point in the delivery of health services. I was left with the impression that not only can we make things considerable better but that it will happen. All involved should be able to look back and be very proud and no doubt humbled to be involved in the process. This is a good news story. Let us all work for it to happen for the benefit of all. Really good event – many thanks I thoroughly enjoyed this excellent event. The content was interesting and well structured. Thank you for making the presentations available on the internet afterwards.
