INTRODUCTION The Storm Water Catchment Area Project has 2 major activities: PHASE I: Delineation of the Storm Water Catchment Areas for the MS4 Outfalls under LACFCD jurisdiction pursuant to the 2012 NPDES Permit. Phase I was completed December 2014.
INTRODUCTION PHASE 2: Create GIS data by mapping and creating attribute table for the drainage areas of Design Division’s Engineering Hydrology Study Maps. The drainage areas are the basis for the delineation of the Storm Water Catchment Areas.
PHASE I ACTIVITIES Data source: stream lines, sub-watershed, outlet points data from Water Resources Division (about 40% of the LACFCD). Completed catchment areas in the following watersheds: Santa Clara River, Malibu, Ballona Creek, Arroyo Seco, La Mirada Creek, Milan Creek, Los Cerritos Channel, Wilmington. Total catchment areas mapped: 239,160 acres Total number of MS4 outfalls: 220 (> or = 3 feet diameter)
