Preparing for the First Day of School Over the summer: Know your bus route details Walk to school and have a picnic. Play in the school yard. Find the outside doors where the kindergarten students will enter Establish bedtime routines and morning routines. Make up a fun goodbye routine and practise it in other situations before school starts. Practise dressing (zippers, buttons) Consider enrolling your child in an early learning program at the Public Library, Ontario Early Years Centre, Early Child Development and Parenting program, Preschool program or recreation program near you. Supported Entry First day of school is Tuesday, September 5th (day after Labor Day) SK come for the full day JK come for only 100-minutes 10:25 a.m.-12:05 p.m. All students come full day beginning on the second day of school.

Kindergarten Orientation First Day of School Make the first day fun. Get up in time to get everything done without rushing. Be calm. Talk about the fun things (s)he will be doing. Take your child to the bus stop or to the school. Make sure your child gets to school on time and is picked up on time. The first day of school is a big event in the life of a family, make it a positive one! Kindergarten Orientation

However, requests for specific teachers will not be considered. Kindergarten Orientation Bus Transportation School bus routes will be created in accordance with school board policy and will adhere to the following guidelines; Students who live the furthest from school often have the longest ride times. In many situations students can experience longer ride times to and from school than students in the regular program. Ride times should not exceed 60 minutes unless under exceptional circumstances. All students will be assigned to centrally designated corner bus stops. Elementary students can be expected to walk up to 400 metres to a central bus stop location. Make sure that you provide accurate and up-to-date information about pick up/drop-off addresses. Be at the stop 10 minutes before the pick-up time Plan to attend the Bus Rider Safety Program in August Kindergarten Orientation
