Far from perfect… We are angry… vs. 21-26 We lust… vs. 27-30 We walk out on each other… vs. 31-32 We are untruthful… vs. 33-37 We desire vengeance… vs. 38-42 We don’t love our enemies… vs. 43-47 We are NOT perfect… vs. 48
The Law prepares us for the gospel… The Law and the Gospel The gospel never makes us feel good about who we are while we are in our sin… The gospel makes those who feel bad in their sin good through Christ’s finished work on the cross… The Law prepares us for the gospel…
Paul: Pharisee made Poor in Spirit Romans 7:21-24 21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am!
