SECTIONAL VIEWS The position of the cutting plane is indicated by the center line A-A, 2. The part of the object behind the arrows is removed in the sectional view. The sectional view can either be an elevation or plan. 3. Cut surfaces produced by cutting planes are called sections and they are hatched with thin continuous lines, equally spaced and usually at 45º as shown.
