Celebrating Alex’s Impact Chris Wilson Student Researcher CHREC Space Processor (CSP) on International Space Station (2/23/17 to present) Background: On-board computing is principal challenge for future spacecraft in sensor processing and autonomous control Challenge: Harsh environment and severe resource constraints Mission: Using two CSP computers, perform studies on resilient, parallel, and reconfigurable computing in orbit Theme: New concepts and technologies in hybrid space computing combining high performance and reliability with low size, weight, power and cost Celebrating Alex’s Impact Alex’s guidance was instrumental in formation of CHREC Alex’s vision in formative years of CHREC made this research possible Without Alex, this Center and mission would never have happened!
