DSL SNR
What is SNR Signal to Noise Ration (SNR) is the strength of signal as compare to noise. SNR measured in dB (decibels). signal must be louder than noise If we have high noise on copper line, we will face low speed. If the noise will be low, the speed will be high.
Reasons for Low SNR: electrical equipment electromagnetic interference and surrounding area humidity Example : TVs ,PCs ,High Lighting ,Cordless Phones Heat ,Electrical equipment ,Electromagnetic interference Bad Quality of Copper Low Gauge Wire Joints in Copper Wire Bad Patching at Exchange Side Bad Quality Router
SNR Rate 6dB or below is bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems 7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions 11dB-20dB is good with little or no synch problems* 20dB-28dB is excellent 29dB or above is outstanding
