Our Lee County Story… Approached about a group using the McSwain Center Used this as an “opportunity” to reach new audiences Worked out agreement to transition group into 4-H Club

Challenges in becoming a 4-H Club There were a number of challenges at first Trust Unfamiliarity with 4-H and Extension Language Barrier Transportation and Punctuality

Keys to Success Develop the relationship first Find a way to “translate” the value of 4-H to parents Encourage the kids to try everything at least once

Leads to other in-roads Kids will take advantage of additional programs Once they buy in, they are in
