GTAModel V4 Progress Update Mode choice estimation modules are coded and tested Mode Modules are coded Except Drive Access Transit (DAT), which require station choice first Activity generation rates are extracted Fully automated within XTMF Scheduler is now race-condition free The same inputs (files, parameters, random seed) will always produce the same outputs Base network is done Centroids and connectors are in; network is runnable Airport model has been converted

GTAModel V4 Progress Update The following components have been designed but not yet implemented: Place-of-Residence, Place-of-School (PORPOS) Non-work/school (NWS) location choice Station choice / DAT Network Assignment Auto network assignment Transit network assignment External trips

Completed 2012 Base Network Consists of two components: Base network (NWP file) Transit service table (CSV table) TMG Toolbox → Network Editing → Dynamic Networks → Create Time Period Network Tool for creating a network/scenario for a specific time period

Update to Network Package NWP files now include the functions table (.411 file) from their respective emmebank When importing an NWP file, these functions will be compared against those currently defined in the emmebank for potential conflicts E.g., if FT1 = length / speed in the emmebank, and FT1 = length / speed + us2 in the NWP file, a conflict will be identified A window will pop-up prompting the user as to how to handle all identified conflicts

Editing Library TMG Toolbox → Common → Editing Utilities Collection of small functions for scripted network editing Some functions: Split/merge links Transit line manipulations Shortest-path calculation object To use: import inro.modeller as _m _MODELLER = _m.Modeller() _editing = _MODELLER.module('TMG2.Common.Editing') network = _MODELLER.scenario.get_network() ...

Other software improvements Fixed a bug in CCGEN Error occurs when using Boundary Shapefile File browser/selector for XTMF parameters Enhanced TMG.DirectCompute API (GPU interface)

Update to NCS11 Transit ROW encoding: Use Transit Time Function (TTF) to indicate which transit segments use an surface transit-only lane ROW A (GO Rail, Subway) = FT1 ROW B (surface laneways) = FT2 ROW C (buses, streetcars) = FT3 Links with transit-exclusive ROWs are flagged for convenience using the ‘x’ mode This should accommodate all current and future ROW needs

Using the new encoding Transit background traffic in auto assignment: Need to calculate transit auto equivalencies manually tvaeq / hr = 60.0 / headway * tvaeq Can be stored in UL1, or stored in an extra attribute If stored in an extrs attribute, need to link that attribute to extra function parameter EL1 VDFs need to be modified to use the new additional volume Traffic speed updating in transit assignment: Just modify the appropriate TTFs

Thank You! Next meeting: Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM
