Obj: Identify & use bisectors, medians, and altitudes in triangles (4
What is a perpendicular bisector? A line, segment, or ray that passes through the midpoint of the side and perpendicular to that side.
What is concurrency? 3 or more lines intersect a common point
What is a circumcenter? point of concurrency of the perpendicular bisectors equidistant from the vertex of the triangle.
What is an angle bisector? A line, segment, or ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles.
What is an incenter? Point of concurrency of the angle bisectors Equidistant from each side of the triangle.
What is a median? A segment whose endpoints are a vertex of a triangle and the midpoint of the side opposite the vertex.
What is a centroid? Point of concurrency of the medians Located 2/3 of the distance from a vertex to the midpoint of the side opposite the vertex on a median.
What is an altitude? A segment from a vertex to the line containing the opposite side and perpendicular to the line containing that side.
What is an orthocenter? Point of concurrency of the altitudes
