How to successfully avoid heartburn and indigestion

Symptoms of heartburn include: Chest pain, stomach pain Burning sensation in the chest/throat/stomach Difficulty swallowing A feeling of acidity in the mouth/throat area Symptoms of indigestion include: Bloating/burping/belching Nausea and vomiting Burning sensation in the stomach/throat Stomach pain/abdominal pain

Causes of heartburn and indigestion: Overeating/eating before going to bed Eating fatty/fried/spicy food Eating too many sweets Smoking, drinking alcohol/soda Stress/eating on the run Chocolate, citrus juices Use of medicines such as aspirin or other anti-inflammatory pills Pregnancy/added pressure on the stomach

Self-help tips Being careful about consuming the ingredients which are most likely to cause heartburn and indigestion (differs with each individual) Avoiding eating before going to bed/taking walks before getting into a horizontal position Avoiding over-eating Stopping smoking Reducing alcohol/fast-food/coffee/sweets
