Welcome to St. Peter Our summer worship series, “The Christian Faith, One Word at a Time” continues this week. Our focus today is on the daily battle and ongoing struggle that Christians have with our sinful natures. Thankfully, Jesus gives real rest to our sin-weary souls through the gift of forgiveness. May you, soldier of Christ, be refreshed and re-energized to “fight the good fight”!

Prayer Before Worship Lord Jesus, I am sorry for too often losing in my daily struggles against sin. Comfort me with your unconditional love and full forgiveness. Assure me that your victory is mine by faith. Please give me your Spirit and the spiritual strength to overcome the temptations of my sinful heart, the sinful world around me and Satan, so that I may win the battle against sin. Amen.

OUR COMMUNION PRACTICE In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Jesus gives us his true body and blood. We express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of our church or the WELS. Visitors and guests who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.
