uGT: upgrade Global Trigger AMC502 FINOR merger MP7 logic boards AMC13 readout board AMC502 input receivers uGT: upgrade Global Trigger

achieved in 2016 uGT deployed at start of year gradual improvement of monitoring trigger-rate panel multi-board running (using two MP7) introduced in September continuous evolution of menus 10 versions for pp 3 versions for Heavy-Ions invariant-mass trigger algos deployed new trigger object collections ETT_EM (total transverse energy only from ECAL) ETM_HF (missing transverse energy, including HF) TOWERCOUNT (number of calo towers above threshold)

to do for 2017: firmware (1) invariant mass: include cut on pt of two-body system transverse mass overlap removal jets – eg, jets – tau, tau – eg additional object collections “fat” jets maybe energy sums in limited eta range? suppress spurious trigger counts from calibration was delayed because of inconsistent BGO definitions between AMC13 and MP7 maybe double-b-tagging two muons in a jet, e.g. for H  b b

to do for 2017: firmware (2) allow using leading few objects of collections only instead of full collection to save resources

to do for 2017: software streamline software e.g. easier use of bunch-crossing mask keep Trigger Menu Editor (TME) up to date with evolving firmware capabilities improve monitoring compare Calo Layer-2 and uGMT readout data with uGT input readout data compare AMC13 global FINOR “out” with TCDS FINOR “in” publish in DQM

to do for 2017: hardware install third MP7 board possibly even more, up to 6 maximum; depending on inputs availability install additional FinOR-merger AMC502 for prescale column preview additional patch panels for more than 3 MP7 boards equip uGT test crate with some fiber inputs as far as available; for testing purposes
