Reviewing this won’t only prepare us for the exam, but help us comprehend reading better, and help us write better. The Why: EOC is just one more stepping stone to getting through college! Sentence type gallery walk With your cheat sheet (notes) in hand, walk around the room with a partner and identify each type of sentence posted on the wall. Write an explanation as to why it is that particular sentence. For example, you could write, “This is a complex/compound sentence since the phrase “After the movie” is a dependent clause and “we went to the store and then we went home” are two independent clauses joined together by a conjunction, and”. Let’s see who can get the most correct!
Guided Practice (20 MIN) Part I: Now with the knowledge of types of sentences in mind, let’s practice a bit! Complete Section 12 on a separate sheet of paper.

We’re going to use our knowledge of independent and dependent clauses to attack Section 9 in our EOC Packets. Complete the questions on a separate sheet of paper.
