Rodolphe Topffer Rodolphe Topffer was the son of painter Wolfgang Adam Topffer. They two men were German emigrants. Rodolphe Topffer had a defect in his eye, which kept him from being an artist like his father. With that he became more interested in literature. He is now the French father of comics. He was also the founder of an all boys boarding school.

Astérix Astérix is a little fearless warrior who lives in about 50 B.C. He lives in a little fictional village named Amorica. He is one of the smartest, and not to mention sanest members of the village! For him to have super strength he has to drink a little magic potion.

Blake et Mortimer Blake was from a Belgian comic series, he is a Welsh born officer of armed forces. He studied at Oxford and became the leader of British Security Service, but is still active in the armed forces. He’s a master of disguise. Mortimer was a physicist. He grew up in colonial India and is an archetypical British gentlemen scholar.

Blake et Mortimer

Tintin Comic strips made up by George Rémi, a Belgian artist. He is a journalist who has a dog named Snowy. Snowy is his companion.

Comparisons French comics and American comics are both funny. Some American comics that are really funny are Charlie Brown and Snoopy, Garfield, and Denice the Menace. Comics wouldn’t be the same without being funny.
