Presentation transcript:

The Shahada is the first Pillar of Islam The Shahada is the first Pillar of Islam. Shahada is the Declaration of Faith - that one believes In Allah and his final Prophet Mohammed. It is something that every person must believe in order to be a Muslim. It is the most important pillar of all pillars.

Muslims believe you cannot be a Muslim if you don’t say and believe in the Shahada. It is not enough to just say they believe – they must act on what they believe. This allows Muslims to practise the other pillars. By doing the other pillars – this shows obedience to God.

By uttering the Shahada the Muslim accepts Allah as the one and only Creator of all, and the Supreme Authority over everything and everyone in the universe. Therefore a Muslim closes his/her heart and mind to loyalty, devotion and obedience to, trust in, dependence on, and worship of anything or anyone other than Allah. Anyone who cannot recite this wholeheartedly is not a Muslim. When a Muslim recites this they proclaim: That Allah is the only God, and that Muhammad is his prophet That they personally accept this as true That they will obey all the commitments of Islam in their life
