Elizabeth Blackwell was the first woman doctor Elizabeth Blackwell was the first woman doctor. I chose her because I believe she showed good perseverance , and because I am considering becoming a doctor when I grow up.

FIRST WOMAN DOCTOR! As Elizabeth Blackwell graduated she became the first woman doctor. Many still think her crazy, but she is obviously sane enough to be a doctor. Graduated from Geneva Medical School at top of her class. She was banned from practicing in most hospitals so is now moving to Paris to study more there.
