Welcome to Miss Lewis’ First Grade Open House

About Me I am a graduate of Moravian College. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education at Moravian. This fall I will be completing my thesis project about writing- I will be sending home a permission form to use your kiddo’s data tomorrow. I have a twin sister who teaches second grade in Bethlehem. She is going to have a baby girl in December!! I am getting married on November 3rd! I have two cats: Rosa and Charles

Kratzer Elementary School I pre student taught and student taught here at Kratzer I was a Title I assistant for two years, working with first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. I was a long term sub in kindergarten while Mrs. Jones was on maternity leave. I also subbed in second grade while a teacher was on leave. This is my fourth year teaching first grade!

Classroom Management In my classroom, we earn marbles as our classroom management system. Each day, the children are rewarded with a certain amount of marbles for good behavior as a group. They earn marbles for working hard, listening carefully, walking nicely in the halls, etc. When we fill up our marble jar to the halfway mark, students will earn a treat. When we fill the marble jar completely up, we will have a bigger party! Students may also earn treats throughout the day from the treat jars for completing an assignment nicely, working hard, etc. Hoot Hoot Hooray Slips: You will see green slips coming home occasionally with your kiddos. They can earn a slip by showing outstanding behavior or hard work. When your child receives this slip, he/she has earned a green for the day!

Color Behavior System If your kiddo should receive an orange I will write a note explaining why and ask for your signature.
