EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT SKYSCRAPER

EXPECTATIONS: Design and construct the highest Earthquake Proof Structure you are able. Expectations: Your mission group’s challenge is to build the highest 4- sided SKYSCRAPER, which will withstand an earthquake.   4 – sided SKYSCRAPER: Minimum Maximum Length 20 cm 35 cm Width 20 cm 35 cm Height 60 cm height of my doorway All structures to be built on 40 X 40 cm poster or cardboard base

Your structure MUST be a FRAMEWORK and CAN be made of cardboard or balsa wood strips (not to exceed 2 cm in width) and / or popsicle sticks. ASK your instructor about other FRAMEWORK materials. ASK your instructor what materials you may use to COVER the FRAMEWORK (for example, paper is highly recommended).   Your structure CANNOT be made of: K’nex Legos Lincoln Logs Tinker Toys Purchased building toys Steel or ANY metal pieces Cardboard, wood, or styrofoam BOARDS Any adhesive other than what I supply Structure must have a 3 dimensional blueprint included.
