Introduction to heart disease Heart disease represents a range of conditions which affect heart, including heart rhythm problems, blood vessel diseases, like coronary artery disease. There are many reason causing heart disease. For example, cardiovascular disease is caused by high blood pressure and congenital heart disease is due to gene representation.

Link Between Periodontal Disease and Heart Disease Although till now, there has no sufficient evidence to prove that periodontitis is an absolute factor of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, some trials have confirmed on the strong association between atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and periodontitis

Link Between Periodontal Disease And Heart Disease Periodontitis and heart disease share risk factors, such as cigarette smoking, diabetes, obesity, stress, depression, physical inactivity, and a low-quality diet

How Oral Bacteria Hijacks the Immune System?

P gingivalis enter the blood stream through the mouth and manipulates white blood cells to impair the ability of the cells to kill the pathogen. Oral pathogens like P. gingivalis have three pathways to impact oral and systemic health: They enter us through periodontal pockets They release their toxins into our systems Our own bodies set off an inflammatory response to both of the above
