Metrics Replication Presentation for Maryland Staff September 26, 2002
Agenda Replication Process Overview Demonstration Data Required for Staff Replication Develop Algorithms Produce Results Comparison Process Validate Discrepancies Reconcile Differences Tools and Resources Demonstration
Data Required for Staff Replication Current Guidelines Data File Inventory Data File Layouts (record layouts) & Input Data Detail Data Files (flat files) Verizon C2C Report Change Controls
Develop Algorithms Build computer program codes based on Guideline requirements. For example: Products Exclusions Calculations Date and time requirements Data File Layouts & Input Data Change Controls
Produce Results Design the reports Choose format based on comparison process Run algorithms against detail data files to produce results
Comparison Process Compare Verizon C2C to replicated results Performing Comparison “Stare and compare” EXCEL Computer generated comparison Output is discrepancy list
Validate Discrepancies Check to ensure correct detail data file used Review the detail data file for data inconsistencies Review the Guidelines for correct input Check that all change controls were implemented Validate the algorithm used to calculate the results
Reconciliation Process Identify and document the discrepancy Specific format designed in conjunction with Verizon Maintain log designed to track and monitor status Email transmission SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for Verizon Work with Verizon to resolve discrepancy
Tools and Resources Data Processor PC, server, or mainframe to support Loading and running of approx. 60 data files File formats of EXCEL, ASCII text File sizes ranging from from 1kb to 20,000kb Email address for receipt of change controls Resources required to: Build program code Manage data (retrieve, load and run data) Manage change control process Maintain the program code Analyze data (reconciliation management)
Demonstration EXCEL Type Mechanized Version
