Bike Tour Details Novice Rider Tour - leaves from RHSC at 9 AM on Saturday and travels to the Town of Pittsfield and then back to the lodge.  Approx distance is 10 miles, expected average pace is 11 - 12 mph. Advanced Rider Tour - leaves from RHSC at 11 AM on Saturday and travels through the towns of Bridgewater and Plymouth.  Approx distance is 35 - 40 miles and expected average pace is 15 mph. Advanced Rider Hill Climb - leaves from RHSC at 10 AM on Sunday and travels to the base of the Skyship on RT 4, then up East Mountain Road and then on to the K1 lodge (optional: riders can also wait at the top of East Mountain Road and rejoin others as they come back down from K1).  Then we all enjoy the long descent down the Access Road and continue back to the lodge.  Approx distance is 25 miles, expected average pace is 13 -14 mph due to the extreme climbing involved.  Novice riders may join this ride and turn around at the base of the Skyship and return to RHSC, making the ride about 15 miles. NOTES:  All riders are required to have a bicycle in good working order, a helmet, water bottle and two tire tubes to fit their wheels.  A cell phone is recommended.  Limited mechanical support will be provided.  We will regroup periodically throughout the rides and no one will be dropped, however, as a courtesy to others, please do not participate in a ride if you cannot maintain the advertised expected pace.  Start times are firm, so please be at outside the lodge at least 15 minutes before the start time.  Any riders not ready to leave at the start time will have to proceed on their own.  If you need help with your bicycle or other assistance, please be outside the lodge 1/2 hour before the start time or see me beforehand. Ride Leader Info -  Bob Boothroyd is an experienced ride leader  and former Safety Director for the Sound Cyclists BC in Fairfield County, CT, a former United States Cycling Federation Racer and Coach and currently runs rider training and development clinics for the Sound Cyclists.  Cell phone number is 203-952-3414, email is rhboothroyd@aol.com
