Introducing Award Winning Author and Illustrator …

MO WILLEMS

Who is Mo Willems? Mo grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He loved cartoons and comics. His favorite comic was Charles Schulz's Peanuts. During high school, Mo was involved in theatre and even performed his own comedy routines.

As Mo grows up He moves to London to be a comedian. Being a comedian doesn’t work out. He heads to film school, where he learns a great deal about what it takes to create animations and cartoons. He lands his first job at Sesame Street.

Sesame Street At Sesame Street, Mo writes and makes animations. He creates Suzie Kabloozie, a cartoon character that sings. Mo wins 6 Emmys for his work at Sesame Street.

Mo continues to grow He leaves Sesame Street. He works on writing children’s books. His worked isn’t quite book-worthy. His agent loves his sketches. The sketches lead to his first book. A book about a bird.

Success for Mo The sketch of the bird becomes a series of books: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay up Late! The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! The Duckling Gets a Cookie! The Pigeon Loves Things that Go! The Pigeon Has Feelings, Too!
