Using our chrome books and iPads to play number and phonic games. Reading our home reading books and cards. Enjoying a Samba Assembly and workshop Practising the Samba rhythms from our workshop. Adding 10s and 1s Practising adding and taking away Identifying patterns in addition and subtraction calculations Counting on in 1Os from a given number Playing Snail 100 to visualise counting in 10s and units Researching the Amazon rainforest using websites and booklets Completing a reading comprehension about the Amazon rainforest Writing Amazon animal facts sheets using information cards Researching about snakes Drawing and labelling a snake Writing facts about a snake Sharing our Home Learning rainforest facts with the class. Week Ending: Friday 19th May 2017 Reminders PTA Quacky Duck Race will be held at Llantwit Major beach on Saturday 10th June Ducks are available to purchase from school for £1 for the PTA Quacky Duck Race PE days are Thursdays - kit needed for indoors and outside. Please can you clearly label all clothing/lunchboxes/water bottles Home reading books - please make a comment in the yellow record book and return the plastic sets of word cards each week Fruit snack is available for 20p per day or children may bring their own. Home Learning activities Please practise some rapid mental additions (6+4, 16+4, 20+10, 50 + 50 etc) with your child and when they are answering confidently, please try some take away calculations. Please support your child in learning how to log in to Active Learn independently. A new game called “Balloon Pop” has been allocated this week to support the adding and subtraction calculations that we have been practising.
