John Valverde assists with YouthBuild’s initiation of newest North Shore members! John Valverde, CEO of YouthBuild USA, Inc. visited YouthBuild North Shore to share his story about his second chance with students. Valverde’s work in advocating for equal opportunities for incarcerated and low income youth has had an impact on hundreds of people across the nation. Students were able to ask questions and better understand the level of professionalism that a CEO possesses. Valverde joined the students in activities that included officially inducting the newest members of YB North Shore into the program and having a nail banging contest against Mickey Northcutt, North Shore Community Development Coalition's CEO! April Student of the Month! May Newsletter 2017 YouthBuild Family & Friends Luncheon! YouthBuild North Shore CDC’s friends and family gathered for lunch and celebration last month. This was a chance for students to introduce their families and friends to staff. Students showed their loved ones around the office space, classroom, and workshop so they could see all the work that they do everyday. Congratulations to Billy Coakley on being YouthBuild’s April student of the month! Billy has been improving in the classroom and on the worksite displaying a hard work ethic. His leadership skills and ability to stay focused has made staff take notice. His student peers and friends look up to him in ways that encourage them to pursue their own goals. CHECK THIS OUT!
