Agenda Welcome to District 1060 (DG Charan) Important things about the day (Paul) RIBI & The Rotary Foundation (Mike) Presentation Skills & Public Speaking (John) 12:30 Lunch (All) Group Photo (All) British Cultural Differences (Lorna) Games (All) 17:30 Food (All) Motivational Speaker (Geoff) Wrap-up (Paul) 19:30 Depart (All) Thanks Peter Good afternoon everyone. This is Tony Quinn and I am going to take you through the next stage of this webinar. I will start with the preparation of the webinar material PRESENTING THE SEMINAR Thorough Preparation is of course a huge part of making these programmes successful. So a well thought through plan beginning with what you are trying to get across here is a good place to start . I would suggest using a paper based plan to begin with or maybe a Mindmap if that works for you. Then build your headings to take the listeners though a route which enables them to see a logical approach to your message. So start with what are my objectives for this session, how will each one be met and how do the elements of your presentation fit together logically. ====== It's always very helpful to those watching and listening to have a change of voice from time to time. This aids attention and concentration. Introduce other members of your team to break up the single voice which can be hard to follow after a while; just as we are doing today. You have the facility to add interaction to the event using polls where you can pose questions to the audience to seek relevant information. You may wish to run a test poll first – perhaps about the weather just to get people on board. We will encourage to use the chat messaging facility to allow the audience to post questions. You may wish to ask one of your teams to gather the questions and feed them into the presenters as appropriate either at the end or as we go along. You will as presenter be able to see them on your screen as you are speaking. That will enable you to fit them in as you think best. Any questions remaining at the end of the event or that you were unable to answer immediately should be gathered and posted separately so that the audience can refer to your answers at a later date. Remember also to speak slowly and clearly with a well modulated voice. Communication in this medium is harder that face to face for obvious reasons.
