Daily Journal/Participation Journal: Half a point each day First 4 minutes of class After the late bell rings Write a 4 sentence response to the journal prompt Copy down homework and assessment dates Participation: Half a point each day Are you working effectively and cooperatively? Total: 1 Point Each Day Maintain a 4 Point Average and you can REDO and RESUBMIT work for 1/2 Credit.

Redoing Assignments Tied to weekly grade Weekly grade = Daily journal grade = .5 Daily participation = .5 .5+.5=1 point per day Each week = 5 possible points 4 or higher average = redo assignments Check at the end of EVERY WEEK Averaged out with original grade

Current Events 3 per marking period 1 from each category (World, U.S., Bizarre) Can choose to skip Bizarre and pick, as your third, another World or U.S. Pick them up in class (after class, during lunch if I am here, or during W.I.N.) Folders Check my website for alternative news sources Friday Current Event Days: Fill out form!

Procedures Journal and homework Late assignments Starting class Late assignments As many days as you are out are as many days as you have to turn in missing work Letter grade deducted for each day an assessment/project is late Bins in the back of the room Sign-out Pens and passes Textbooks Materials Journal, folder, pen/pencil Friday = Current Event Day?
