Interstate 15 North Phase 4 This is an introduction to the I 15 Phase 4 Project, that consists of the improvements of the System-to-System Interchange between the CC 215 Beltway and the I 15 North corridor.
I-15 North Environmental Document Study Purpose and Project Elements from US 95 (Spaghetti Bowl) to Apex interchange I-15 North Environmental Assessment –FONSI issued May 2007 Purpose: Accommodate Projected Traffic Decrease Congestion Reduce Travel Times Improve Access, Operations & Safety Elements Increase Capacity Improve Interchange and ramps Enhance Freeway Management System Length : 15 miles The Study consider the 15 miles stretch of I 15 from the US 95 (Spaghetti Bowl) to the Apex Interchange.
I-15 North Phasing Plan: 3 segments and one Interchange Phase 1 – US 95 (Spaghetti Bowl) to Craig Rd Phase 2 –Craig to Speedway Phase 3 – Speedway Blvd to Apex Interchange Phase 4 – I-15 N / CC 215 Beltway Interchange This 15 miles stretch was phased to meet schedule and funding availability into 4 Phases. These Phases consist of 3 segments and an interchange.
I – 15 North Phase 1 5 miles segment, US 95 to Craig Rd Widened I-15 to ten lanes from US 95 (Spaghetti Bowl) to Lake Mead Widened I-15 to eight lanes from Lake Mead Boulevard to Craig Road Reconfigured Lake Mead Interchange – realignment of the on-ramps and off-ramps Added Auxiliary Lanes Completed 2010 Cost $250 M Phase 1 consisted of the $250 Million Design-Build project completed in 2010
I-15 North Phase 2 Craig Rd to Speedway Blvd Widen I-15 from 4 to 6 lanes for 4.8 miles Add Aux. Lanes Restore pavement condition Add ITS (Complete 2013) Widen 4 Bridges over the UPRR Seismic Retrofit 6 Bridges Replace R/W Fence
I-15 North Phase 2 Five Construction Packages Package A - Remove & replace PCCP with PBS (Craig to Lamb), PBS (Lamb to Speedway), ROW fence replacement, and widen & seismic retrofit G-958 N & G-958 S. Projected AD date July 2015. Package B - Construct ITS elements (Craig Rd to Speedway) and a DMS @ Garnet. Construction completed in the 4th quarter of 2013. Package C - Bridges - widen & seismic retrofit for, G-961 N & G-961 S, seismic retrofit only for I-956 & I-965. Projected AD date 2016.
I-15 North Phase 2 Five Construction Packages Package D - Capacity Improvements (4 to 6 lanes), auxiliary lane additions, widen RCB’s and landscaping improvements. Projected AD date 2016. Package E – Construct remaining ITS elements (Speedway to Apex Interchange). (To be included in FAST Package H??). Projected AD date 2016.
