Regents Exam Samples On each table are some sample Regents Exams for you to look over if interested during our session. Please note the amount of reading and mathematical language that this course requires, in addition to “knowing “ the math.

SUPPLIES NEEDED Pencils & Pens Graphing Calculator Marble Composition Notebook used for in class note taking Section in a binder for homework & do now work SAW- means Show All Work

Daily Routine 80 minute class Do Now Work Homework Correction New Lesson In class practice Calculator practice

GRADING POLICY 60% In class tests 20% take home quizzes Kids should use resources for these quizzes! 20% homework Kids should use calculators, but a SAW on LL means show all work on looseleaf.

HOMEWORK Agenda Books are filled out at the beginning of each week with the homework assignments for the entire week. These assignments will also be on school-wires. A score of 0-4 is given for each assignment. Scores are based on quality and quantity of work; not right or wrong. Missed homework assignments can be made up same day after school for ¾ credit or by the next class for half credit.

HOMEWORK The amount of time spent on homework will vary. In general no more than 45 minutes should be spent on a daily assignment. Work must be done neatly in either pen or pencil. If pen is used, the work cannot be full of crossouts. Erasable pen is another good option.

TESTS AND QUIZZES Tests are posted on the homework board and schoolwires and are announced several days in advance. First test is Wednesday, September 27th Take home quizzes should be done with all available resources and are due the next class we meet.

ALGEBRA REGENTS EXAM Students will receive 1 High School math credit once they pass the Common Core Algebra Regents exam on Wednesday June 13th This is a cumulative exam and the score will appear on official high school transcripts. Graphing calculators are required for this exam.

8th Grade Assessment Exam This exam is given to all 8th graders in the state of New York. This year the exam will be given on May 1st- 3rd

EXTRA HELP PERIOD Students can find me most days in room W166 from 2:45-3:15. I recommend that students who are confused on a topic stop by to have me go over the lesson with them during the extra help period.
