PRESENTATION ON THE STATUS OF GHANA BIODIVERSITY CLEARING HOUSE MECHANISM (CHM) A PRESENTATION AT THE REGIONAL CHM ANGLOPHONE PARTNERS WORKSHOP- TANZANIA 9TH TO 12ST MARCH, 2015

CURRENT AVAILABLE CAPACITY TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN THE NATIONAL CHM THESE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: CHM-NFP about to change An I.T unit with one personnel having some understanding of the CHM Trained contributors available in the country.

CHALLENGES AND HOW WE ARE COPING WITH THEM Two more staff have been added. Inactive national contributors Photos yet to be uploaded.

The Ministry needs to provide adequate budget for the CHM. HOW TO DEVELOP THE NATIONAL CHM EFFECTIVELY IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF GHANA’S NBSAP The Ministry needs to provide adequate budget for the CHM. More dedication on the part of the CHM staff. There is the need to retrain and strengthen the network of the national contributors.

WHAT WE INTEND DOING TO ENHANCE THE CHM Revive and motivate contributors to be active. Develop a communication strategy for the CHM in Ghana. Build the capacity of staff and contributors.
