“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27

What is worldliness? Fashioning yourself according to this world’s standards and ways (Romans 12:2) That part of the world that is not a product of the love of the Father (1 John 2:15-17)

On what you set your mind deter-mines if you are worldly or not. Demas was this world oriented (2 Timothy 4:10). Making things of this life your primary concern, endeavor or goal is earthly minded (Philippians 3:18-19). Work determinedly to keep seeking Christ-above things (Colossians 3:1-8).

Keep yourself unstained from the world. How much worldliness has to be present in our lives for them to be stained? One spot… Keep yourself unstained because re-entanglement is just around the corner (2 Peter 2:20).

Keep yourself unstained from the world. What are a few of the worldly spots which we need to keep from getting on us? Lascivious and riotous ways (2 Peter 2:12-14) Not keeping Lord’s commandments (1 Timothy 6:13-14; James 4:17) Friendship with the world (James 4:4)
