Systems of the Body

Respiratory System Function: allows the body to breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide Organs: Lungs, Trachea, Bronchi, Diaphragm

Circulatory System Function: circulates blood to transport oxygen, nutrients, and other important things for the body Organs: Heart, Arteries, Veins Includes Blood

Digestive System Function: Convert food into energy and nutrients for body Organs: Pharynx, Esophagus, Stomach, Small and Large Intestine, Liver, Pancreas, Gall Bladder

Nervous System Function: send, receive, interpret information, monitor organ functions Organs: Brain, Spinal Cord, Nerve System

Skin (Integumentary System) Function: act as barrier to protect from outside world Organs: Skin, Hair, Nails, Exocrine Glands

Urinary System Function: mainly to remove waste product from body Organs: Kidneys, Ureters, Bladder, Urethra
