According to the GA Mountain Ministries Notebook Each summer, some 3,000 children and countless more adults get to learn about the love of Jesus, while they are vacationing in the North Georgia Mountains, because of mission groups which visit them.

What is Resort Ministry? Resort ministry is the communication of the Gospel to people caught up in a distinct leisure lifestyle. The target group consists of people on vacation, seasonal workers, and long term residents of the resort. Resort missions go beyond performing (our specialty) and cross-culturally communicates the Gospel into the leisure setting We must be personal and intentional with our ministry.

Daily Day Camps We will lead day camps for children in privately owned campgrounds or timeshares each day from 9:00-11:30 AM.

Family Evening Programs We will conduct visitation and perform each night in a different campground.

Other Mission Possibilities We may have the opportunity to work with those setting up the North GA State Fair in Hiawasee. We will be performing at the Bandshell in Downtown Helen We will be visiting churches in the area We may perform service projects and or Prayer Walks (in our free time) 

The 2008 Mission Team Charlece Golden David Golden This will be Charlece’s third mission trip with the group. She is a Bible Study Teacher and Puppet Manager. She is also the voice of the SPORTS. David Golden This will be David’s third mission trip with the group. He is a Bible Study Teacher and Puppet Director. He is also an invaluable puppeteer.

The 2008 Mission Team Rebecca Thurman Steve Thurman This will be Rebecca’s third mission trip with the group. She is the Day Camp Director and Puppet Director. She is also the voice of Penny. Steve Thurman This will be Steve’s third mission trip with the group. He is our Technology Expert, Driver/Navigator and Music Man.

The 2008 Mission Team Katie Thurman Carlin Golden This will be Katie’s third mission trip with the group. She helps Mrs. Charlece remember what needs to be said as the voice of the SPORTS. Carlin Golden This will be Carlin’s third mission trip with the group. He is a Master Puppeteer. He is Mrs. Rebecca’s right hand. He is also the voice of Sebastian.

The 2008 Mission Team Kenny Crawford Coleman Thornton This will be Kenny’s first mission trip with the group. He is a puppeteer in training and is always willing to help out anywhere he is needed. Coleman Thornton This will be Coleman’s third mission trip with the group. He is one of our Master Puppeteers.

The 2008 Mission Team Paul Warner Carla Thornton This will be Paul’s second mission trip with the group. He is our resident traveling Preacher. He is also an important puppeteer and driver for the group. Carla Thornton This will be Carla’s third mission trip with the group. She is one of the Puppet Directors. She is also an invaluable puppeteer and our Curtain Manager.

The 2008 Mission Team Leah Scott Sarah Ohms This will be Leah’s first mission trip with the group. She is a puppeteer and a missionary in training. Sarah Ohms This will be Sarah’s second mission trip with the group. She is our resident musician and an important part of our team.

The 2008 Mission Team Michael Markwalter Kimberly Brazis This will be Mikey’s third mission trip with the group. He is a Master Puppeteer and is always willing to do anything he is asked to do. Kimberly Brazis This will be Kimmy’s first mission trip with the group. She is an important puppeteer with our team.

The 2008 Mission Team Liz Tumlin Daniell Richardson This will be Liz’s first mission trip with the group. She is an important puppeteer and is always willing to do anything she is asked to do. Daniell Richardson This will be Daniell’s second mission trip with the group. He is our team handyman who has gotten us out of more than one “mess” and one of our drivers.

What Can You Do To Help? Support our Luau fundraiser on May 18th. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for us as this will be a new type of mission experience for us.

Our Goal As always, to reach “just one soul for Jesus.”
