From: Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents vs Vascular Brachytherapy for In-Stent Restenosis Within Bare-Metal StentsThe TAXUS V ISR Randomized Trial JAMA. 2006;295(11):1253-1263. doi:10.1001/jama.295.11.1253 Figure Legend: Diagram is not to scale. Longitudinal quantitative coronary angiographic measures reported in patients randomized to (A) vascular brachytherapy or (B) paclitaxel-eluting stent. The injury segment is defined as the proximal to distal length of any balloon angioplasty or stent catheter contact against the arterial wall. The radiation segment is defined as the total axial length of the β radiation source train deployed, taking into account manual or automatic stepping. The in-stent segment is defined as the total measured length of newly implanted paclitaxel-eluting stents. The analysis segment is defined as the in-stent segment plus 5-mm proximal and distal margins for the paclitaxel-eluting stent group, and the radiation segment plus 5-mm proximal and distal margins for the vascular brachytherapy group. The number of patients eligible for randomization was not tracked during the course of enrollment. Date of download: 10/20/2017
