The Turning Torso Created By Santiago Calatrava By Christian R

Location of Turning Torso The Turning Torso in the Western Harbor in Malmö, Sweden. The street that it is located on is : V ästra Varvsgatan 34 and the side address of it is Lilla Varvsgatan 14.

Architect The person who designed this building modeled it of a human being in motion. His name is Santiago Calatrava Santiago Calatrava designed this building in 2001. The building was finished in 2006 and it had taken 5 years to build.

Use of the Turning Torso The Turning Torso is a residential building. There are 147 rental apartments on floors from floor 14 to 52.

History The Turning Torso is owned by HSP. The HSP is a private housing company in Sweden. HSP Johnny Örbäck was impressed to see a catalog have a human torso. Johnny Örbäck contacted Santiago Calatrava and asked Santiago to apply the concept into a residential building.
